A guy named Frank Isola, who writes for the New York Daily News, writes that the gossip around the NBA is that John Calipari would “definitely be interested” in the St. John’s job.
If it becomes open.
And if offered.
And, gee, isn’t that what U of L’s league needs: Another Hall of Fame quality coach? And a [...]

So my buddy Ben — a fellow determined to consider all the Bracketological permutations — thinks the Cards should be a lock for a 1 seed, now that Kansas, Oklahoma, Pitt and UConn lost Thursday in conference quarter-finals.
Frankly, as I’ve said, I don’t care what they’re seeded. I’d rather have a Dayton to Indy to [...]
Bob Ryan tells this story about the famous UK/ Duke regional semi-final. As it’s soaring to its stunning conclusion, and the teams are trading the lead, he grabs a piece of paper. On it he writes, “Greatest game ever?” and passes it along to the fellow scribes sitting around him.
Curt Gowdy, once the voice of [...]
Thursday’s twitterings (to adopt the vernacular of the day):

If any of you hoopaholics out there have a degree from MIT or Cal Poly or based upon some other experience or expertise can decipher [...]
Pitt won over UConn.

So, what are Cards fans to make of the lack of national respect? [...]
Pitt 70, UConn 60.
The Huskies loss means Louisville is at the very least, a co-champion of the Big East. Nice.
But not as nice as what happens if the Cards stay steady in front of a rabid crowd in Morgantown in 7 hours and beat the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Big East Champ. No co-.
And what an interesting [...]
And I’m not really talkin’ about the hardwood.
I’m considering what you — my fellow hoopaholics — are going to be doing? And where?
It’s 9:00 a.m. on the regular season’s last Saturday. There’s sunshine. It’s already in the low 60s and the Fahrenheit is climbing. The boulevards and parks will be jammed today. Winter’s woolens shall [...]
