Ozzie, Little Ricky: Where’s the Justice?

So I just got an email from a loyal reader and b-ball fanatic, asking about the implosions on the Belknap Campus.

Earlier this week we find out that U of L’s singular recruit, Terry Rozier isn’t eligible yet.

Now Little Ricky is apparently off to Florida International, and rumored to be taking Florida native Mark Lieberman with him.

And Elisha Justice is said to be returning to his roots to finish his career at UPike.

Stay tuned, we’ll be right back after a word from our sponsor.

Not that life with The Rick is a soap opera or anything.

Yuk, yuk.

Didn’t Pitino the Elder before last season when he rehired Pitino the Younger, previously exiled to Gainesville, state firmly and with all the conviction he could muster: “Two year contract, no matter what offers Richard gets?”

Correct answer: Yes, that’s what he said. (Or something close, it’s a paraphrase.)

And we guess this FIU thing is a done deal, though the only source as of this writing (Sunday night) is Pitino the Elder himself. P the Younger is mum . . . so far.

Let me be the first to toss out a possible replacement, the naming of which name is based upon absolutely zero inside information.

Jerry Eaves.

He had an awful stint as head coach at North Carolina Whatever. But he’s a legacy. And a hard worker. And he knows how to find the Cardinal bench, having been there before as a player and coach.

But don’t bet against Andre McGee.

I certainly understand Elisha Justice’s feelings.

Here, his coach keeps saying how important the kid is to the team, what a key role he played in the Cardinals’ late season run after The Rick finally sat Kevin Ware down, and yet, no scholly.

So EJ plays a couple seasons at UPike, then comes back as a graduate assistant. Unless, of course, Little Ricky craps out at Florida International and returns to courtside at the Yum! next to poppa for more seasoning.

As for U of L’s recruiting class . . .

Didn’t The Rick say just a few years ago, he wasn’t going to waste time recruiting players whose eligibility was in doubt?

Correct answer: Yes he did. But it was several years before he said Little Ricky was staying at least two full seasons.

What’s a comment about Ozzie Guillen doing in a b-ball blog in Louisville, KY, Hoopsylvania?

Well, I’m just too tired to write a separate post, so deal with it.

It’s all a bunch of nonsense, the Guillen suspension.

It’s time for this country — and those Cuban emigrants, the most vocal of which are living a fine life in south Florida — to give up this enmity against Castro’s Cuba. The island nation is a proud land full of culture which deserves all the help its rich neighbor to the north can provide.

Guillen got jobbed. I’m getting tired of all this ass kissing to former Batista insiders.

You are making the mistake of believing Rick actually means what he is saying.
