Former **** recruit and Southern Cal Trojan Jordan Campbell has fallen prey to Charlie Strong’s siren call and signed on to play linebacker next season for the Cardinals. He’s among those juniors and seniors at USC who are eligible to transfer to other schools without penalty and play immediately.
A source reasonably close to U of L’s football program advises Campbell might not be the last to head east. I’m told several other Trojans, sensing immediate and considerable playing time especially on the defensive side of the ball, are considering the move to Derbytown.
Apparently the Trojans’ glib mentor Lane Kiffin was able to keep his herd intact immediately after the NCAA’s onerous but deserved penalties. But a couple of weeks of contemplation it seems have fostered some changes of mind.
It’s obvious that the stellar reputation of Louisville’s new head man is starting to pay dividends.
Let’s hope this rumor comes true, and that there are more Trojans on the way.
