Just in case you’re a Cardinal fan delusional enough to believe that Jon Gruden might be, could be, would be U of L’s next coach, listen up.
It’s never gonna happen. Never never ever ever.
A source who is close to Gruden’s brother, Jay, the former Cardinal QB under The Schnell, confirms my beliefs all along after a chat with Jay.
Here’s what brother says: Jon makes over $2 mill a year for the stress free job of bantering with Jaws on Monday Night football telecasts. He has no desire whatsoever to coach at the collegiate level . . . unless an opening occurred at University of Touchdown Jesus. (And, all my carping notwithstanding, it looks like Coach Humpty Dumpty has coached up the Fighting Irish.)
So it ain’t gonna happen. Not this season. Not next. Not ever.
All of which makes one wonder: Why would Gruden buy a house in Hunting Creek?

Last week, a guy I work with runs into the office and announces that Kragthorpe is resigning and Tommy Tuberville is coming to replace him. I asked him where he heard that. He said his sister-in-law who heard it from a guy she works with. We need a TO here, baby. Is anyone else getting just a bit weary of all of this? Truth: no one knows nothin’ excep the AD and he is mute on the subject. I’ve said all along Gruden is not interested in coming to Louisville and I seriously doubt Tuberville is either. It will be someone off the radar just like John L. or Petrino. So let’s take a breath, support the players and get ready for basketball. BTW, I heard Phil Fulmer bought a house in Lake Forest.
I heard Pete Carroll recently bought a farm in Oldham Co….
Fred, it’s true that most of the rumors are false. But to think that Louisville can’t attract a big name is absolutely false.
You also have to remember, Rick Pitino didn’t want to come to Louisville until Jurich convinced him to do so. Don’t think that just because Gruden has not expressed interest now, he will not do so in the future.
Would he even be a good college coach? I don’t believe he has any experience as a head coach at the collegiate level.
Read my lips: Jon Gruden will never coach University of Louisville football.
I have been speaking with two former UofL lineman about Tuberville since March. I reported my first discussions with the on LSR and the thread was quickly locked. With discussions with Tuberville beginning to be made public, I know eveything I have heard is being confirmed.
Agents for UofL reached an agreement with Jimmy Sexton in May to give Louisville first shot at Tommy.
The table is set; all Jurich needs to do is close the deal.
BTW There was never any serious interest from anyone connected with UofL with Gruden except from some delusional fans.

Do we really want Tuberville? His offense has always been pretty stale, except when he had Petrino as coordinator.
I couldn’t care less about a stale offense if the final score is in UofL’s favor. Winning 2-0 beats losing 57-56. Just win baby, just win.
I saw Gruden having a Big Mac on Brownsboro Road last week. He was wearing a UofL hat, and driving an Oscar Meyer weinermobile.
Well this is interesting:

If you take the time to look into it @ the Clerk’s office, there are no properties in Jefferson Co. under Gruden’s name.
