From Black Out to Black Eye

There’s 1:58 to go. Louisville is driving toward the Pitt goal line.

B.F.D.

Louisville, in a game its coach called “a must win,” is losing 10-35.

When U of L’s O line wore down, all chances to win, slim as they might have been, were lost.

The Cards’ drive just petered out. Surprise starter Adam Froman — Justin Burke, we learned on game day, has been hurt since the Utah loss — just threw a complete pass on 4th down. Short of the first down marker. And, by the way, he was beyond the line of scrimmage when he threw it. That about sums it up for the Cardinals.

A 6 1/2 point dog, Louisville lost by 25.

Louisville is not a very good team. And with the major part of the conference schedule coming up — on the road — the wheels will fall off. It is inevitable.

I’d love to break down the loss, provide incisive observations, mention pertinent stats. It is of no matter.

It is beyond reasonable comprehension that Steve Kragthorpe will still be head coach at Louisville next season. Period.

There is no spin. There is no excuse for such ineptitude.

It was Black Out Night at Papa John’s. By game’s end, Cardinal fans, the very few who were left, were hoping to color Steve Kragthorpe gone. There is no way to sugarcoat how far the program has declined on his watch.

I figure 3-9 has got to convince TJ that SK is a mistake. But I’m not really sure where that third win is going to come from.

I have been telling any one who will listen, that this so called coach is in over his head. He may excell in a Division III program, but he doesn’t have what it takes to be successful on this level. We need a innovative coach that can actually “coach”, can surround himself with a quality staff, and can show some improvement each and every time out.
I love the Cardinals, but I am so done with this guy.

Oh oh, I think I just spotted another home loss on our schedule. Arky St. just lost at Iowa by only 3.
