The lack of stirring bon mots is obviously the surest sign yet that Howard Schnellenberger has not fully recovered from his Fighting Owls decimation at the hands of Nebraska’s Cornhuskers the Saturday before last. As a result, SchnellSpeak has been in a state of forced hiatus for the last few days. I hope withdrawal symptoms have not been too severe.

After a recent practice, Coach Voice seemed to be revving his engines again, if only a bit.

When asked about the attitude of his players in advance of their journey to South Carolina this weekend:
“They are excited about going up there and playing. I don’t  think they are in a particularly jocular mood. They are trying to get through these practices and learn as much as they can ….They are rested and practiced relatively hard.”

Jocular??????

Arithmetically Precise Schnell showed up when asked the state of recovery of one injured player? “He’s still not well, but he’s about 93 percent.”

Wonder what the margin of error is on that percentage?

The Gamecocks have a hot shot LB, Eric Norwood. The Schnell was asked if scout team linebackers wearing brightly colored helmets might be trying to impersonate him in preparation?

“We pre-determine someone will wear that yellow one and will impersonate some individual that I am not at liberty to tell you who it is.”
