This morning’s C-J listed local area pigskinners on NFL rosters as training camps open. Of course not all will make it through the final cut.

(At this point, I was going to be pissy and name some names of guys who will probably be back in town before kickoff, looking for a job. But, hey, hope springs eternal. Even if we know in our hearts that Mario Urrutia should have finished his up-to-then mediocre career at U of L before jumping.)

Anyway, the list includes 31 former Cardinals. That’s got to be a record number, right? Guess ol’ John L and his current boss, Bobby “The Pariah” Petrino, knew how to recruit.

Fifteen Wildcats are on the list. And thirty former Purdue Boilermakers.
