I know, I know. it’s summer camp time for college hoops recruiting, and I appear to be the only guy attempting to write sports in this town who isn’t off at some camp observing the jump shot of Melquandel Bullwinkle, a 6-7 ******* (that’s seven stars if your calculator isn’t handy) two guard from Whatchamacallit, West Virginia.
But I do have a recruiting tidbit for those who still care about Louisville football.
A source close to the situation — ain’t they always — advises that U of L is seriously in the hunt for a top drawer rising senior QB from Georgia. Apparently the kid has some family connections here. He just finished U of L’s camp and he and Coach Krag have begun some sort of bromance. Meaning coach loves the kid and the kid loves the coach.
My source says the kid has already been offered schollys by Nebraska and Oklahoma, but the Cards now top his list.
Don’t ask. My source didn’t give me a name.
Anyway, if it’s true, it’s the first hint o’ good news for the U of L football program in some time.

First good news since what’s his name was hired. But I question whether he will last til this kid is eligible to sign.

I have spoken with only two members of the UofL board of trustees about what’s his name but I can tell you neither one supports him in any way other than his being the coach (for now). They have no respect for him either. Seem the only important person I know who does is TJ, so……………………back to empty seats.
