Okay so my Red Wings will have to go to a Game 7 to win their second Stanley Cup in a row. They lost tonight, 2-1, to Pittsburgh. Credit defenseman Rob Scuderi for saving the win. During Detroit’s last minute empty goal anschluss, Scuderi aided Fleury in goal by stopping three shots, one with his foot, one with his thigh.
Game 7 Friday night at the Joe.
So then I turned on the Tigers v. White Sox game on the internet. Detroit’s closer Fernando Rodney walked the first three batters in the bottom of the 9th with a 6-3 lead. Anyway, cutting to the chase, Chicago tied it and were denied the W in the inning when the Tigers relay got the winning run at the plate.
Detroit’s batting in the 10th. Okay, Miguel Cabrera just hit a solo shot, giving Detroit a 7-6 lead.
Meanwhile in Orlando, it’s tied at 99 with 2:33 to play. Can the Magic hold on and win of these nail biters?
Jermaine Dye just made an amazing catch to end Detroit’s 10th. Had it fallen, the Tigers would have had a three run lead, still batting.
Kobe gets the call down three at 59.8. Howard’s clean block is called a foul. Bryant hit one of two, to cut the lead to a deuce.
Brandon Lyon who came in for Rodney in the 9th, then blew the save opportunity, got the win after retiring Chiicago three up three down in the bottom of the 10th.
The Magic actually held on to beat the Lakers. At least they will after sorting out this time clock thing at the end of the game. 108-104
The Film Babe a/k/a My Better Half advises it’s time to turn off my computer and come to bed.
So I shall.
