Pittsburgh is toast — to mix your hot and cold metaphors — in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Red Wings 5, Penguins 0 at the end of two. Detroit tallied four goals in the 2d, three on power plays. The younger, less mature Pens cracked in the same way Chicago’s similarly youthful cracked in Detroit in the last series.
Cleary, Filppula, Kronwall, Rafalski and Zetterburg have tallied for the defending champs. Pavel Datsyuk has returned to the ice for the homestanding red team. His presence has invigorated Detroit which lost the last two in Steeltown.
Game Six will be Tuesday in Pittsburgh. The two day rest should benefit the older Red Wings. But the Pens have been tough at home.
