Red Wings are Stalwart Early

It’s Hockey Night at the Seedy K-Dome.

It’s by default. No hoops. No NCAA baseball. I can’t bring myself to cyberwatch the Tigers/ Red Sox series. Boston’s already up 3-1. Ouch.

So pucks it is. Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Why I say Detroit is stalwart is this. Max Talbot tallied early for the hard charging Pens in front of a raucous white out crowd. Mr. Mo was all on Pittsburgh’s side. But, lo and behold, the mature and patient — and really talented — Red Wings countered just a few moments later. Thank you Henrik Zetterberg.

So, it was 1-1. Detroit’s on the first power play of the game. And, yo, before I could hit the “Publish” button, John Franzen tallied for the good guys.

Detroit is up 2-1. And the refs just missed a call. The Penguins played with an extra man on the ice for about 30 seconds.
