I know I’ve been ragging on U of L’s Athletic Administration. (Actually did it a few minutes ago, when printing some quotes about U of L’s football coaching staff.)

But it is also time to praise the truly incredible accomplishments of the teams, men and women who have competed for the University of Louisville Cardinals over the past year, as well as their coaches and the responsible administrators.

The Louisville Sports Report lists 21 sports. That includes both men’s and women’s teams.

Of those 21 squads, 14 were ranked in the Top 25 in the nation. That’s 67%.

That’s HUGE!

And 8 teams won conference titles, either regular season or tournament or both. That’s over a third of the teams.

Un-buh-liev-uh-bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So let’s have a Standing O for University of Louisville Athletics. Cards fans — myself included — tend to dwell on the negativitude, but the reality is, all in all, it’s been a mighty successful year. The overall state of U of L sports is at a very high, unprecedented level.
