Which Comes 1st — Logo or Team?

My Detroit Lions, if you recall, went 0-fer last season.

As in they played sixteen NFL football games, and won, uh, zero. As in none of them.

So the organization is looking for a way to bring about some fresh air and a new attitude, which might help mask the stench still lingering from the Matt Millen Era.

To do this, they’re using an old Notre Dame ploy. When the Irish need a bit more boost for a big game, more often than not, they eschew the school’s colors and take the field or court wearing green. As expected it has little influence on the final outcome.

Detroit unveiled a new logo today. A fiercer lion and updated lettering.

I am so sure that this logo — along with a steller draft, some wise trades and better play on the field — will greatly improve the end results this fall.

You need to check out today’s Tank McNamara cartoon. Here’s a link if it’s not in the CJ anymore.
