Big Test Today

And I’m not really talkin’ about the hardwood.

I’m considering what you — my fellow hoopaholics — are going to be doing? And where?

It’s 9:00 a.m. on the regular season’s last Saturday. There’s sunshine. It’s already in the low 60s and the Fahrenheit is climbing. The boulevards and parks will be jammed today. Winter’s woolens shall be tossed aside. Sweater puppies on on parade shall be the order of day. Which is to say it’s going to be a perfect pre-spring day, a needed respite from — pardon my use of another’s phrase — our winter of discontent.

Ah, but there’s also UConn/ Pitt at noon. College Hoopdom’s most intriguing soap opera, UK’s Wildcats, play rival Florida at 2:00. Then a couple of those little conference finals with a trip to the Dance in the offing, those games that always seesaw to a last minute decision. Capped by the Cards journey to Morgantown at 9:00 with the Game Day luminaries in the house.

So what’s your call? Recreation? The Great Outdoors? Out and about with the hotties walking their puppies? Or a day in your recliner in front of that 42″ HD you got for Christmas? Chips and popcorn and Impellizzeri’s Pizza and your favorite beverages in abundance? Hoops über alles?

Our mettle shall be tested.

Save the outside stuff for tomorrow. It’s only North Carolina at Duke, then.
