Seems like the wags who write sports just won’t let up about the possibility that Louisville might need a new football coach after next season. If not sooner. And it’s not just us local troublemakers either.
Why won’t the press just leave it alone and shut up? Don’t we know the Cards got their guy?
Dave Curtis in today’s 2/27 issue of Sporting New Today postulates that out-of-work, former Auburn and Ole Miss coach Tommy Tuberville would be a perfect fit at either Virginia — where Al Groh is under siege — or right here in River City as a replacement for U of L’s Coach For Life, Steve Kragthorpe.
How ironic would that be? Auburn tried to sneak Bobby Petrino out of town on a private plane, a ploy that cost the AD and university president their jobs. Now reasonable conjecture is that U of L might look toward the successful coach then in place on the plains to resurrect its program.
The spinnin’ wheel spins and where it stops nobody knows.
