I’m thinking it’s getting close to tournament time.
First tourney first, I say. As my pal Ben and I always confirm, you only play who you play, i.e. don’t be thinking ahead.
Which means Louisville has to take care of biz this afternoon against the woeful Blue Demons.
But, ignoring my own wisdom, thinking ahead toward the Big East tournament, it comes down to this. If Louisville wins the rest of its home games, and Villanova suffers one more setback, the Cards can lose all three road games left — Georgetown, Cincy, West Virginia — and still get a double bye in the conference tournament.
Of course, if they win a couple of those road tilts, they stay in the running for a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA. Which would be a good thing. A real good thing. Games closer to home. Easier early opponents.
Like I said before, it’s put up or shut up time. Beat DePaul.
As for the Cats, they’re a lock for the NCAA. But they need to beat Vandy on Tuesday. More confusing is the SEC tournament and the mishmash that is the Eastern Division. If anybody can tell me what’s gonna happen there, please weigh in.
The only sure thing is the smackdown which will come about, should Jeannine Edwards be covering any more Cats games. My favorite unsubstantiated innuendo about that strange scene is that Billy Clyde hit on her and was rebuffed. Which is why he acts like an immature 4th grader who didn’t get a Valentine card when she interviews him. How sweet it would be if that’s a true tale.
Bellarmine needs to beat Lewis in a big GLVC battle Thursday in Knights Hall, to have any chance of a home court advantage in the post season.

I hear ya on Bellarmine. Hope the fair-weather fans of Abramsonville will still show up and rock Knights Hall on Thursday and Saturday evenings.
The Knights are starting to get healed and hopefully starting to get back in the groove. Go BU!
