Awright, so the Knights glided back to earth like a US Airways jet into the Hudson. Like that plane, there are no significant repercussions, thank heavens.
After three stunning wins at home to remain undefeated and vault to #2 in the national rankings, Bellarmine learned yet again about life on the road in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. (For comparison purposes, this is the Big East of Div. II.) So Missouri-St. Louis and Rockhurst caught Scotty Davenport’s charges resting on their laurels a bit.
This remains a mighty fine b-ball team, surely to be reckoned with in the post-season. Despite U of L’s recent uptick, I remain steadfast in my opinion that Knights Hall on Norris Place is the most fun venue for hoops in town this season.
Bellarmine meets Drury on Thursday (1/22, 8:00) and Missouri S & T (Science & Technology for those keeping score at home) on Saturday (1/24, 3:15). Check ‘em out. You’ll be glad you did.

Thanks for all of your support and ink spilled for the Knights! BU basketball is one of the better-kept secrets around here, but, thankfully, the word is starting to get out about the high level at which the Knights play.
By the way, while they’ve dropped a few games recently, it is important to note that Bellarmine has suffered a couple of key injuries, and these guys (both athletic and among a number of D-I transfers or recruits on the team) have not been playing since the big winning streak ended.
