Now That Was U.G.L.Y.

Okay, so U of L normally loses neutral site games early on — their .167 for the last three years in such contests, far and away the lowest in the Big East — but this clunker against the Hilltoppers was especially ugly.

U.G.L.Y.

But I’m repeating myself.

Shot less that 30%. Outrebounded by 12. The two point guards were 0-Whatever. The Cards were somnambulant. That means they were sleep walking. Which is really more of a compliment that it should be.

Did I mention U.G.L.Y.? Uh, so I did.

Hopefully this will be a blip on the screen. But Samardo needs to learn how to block out and jump for rebounds. And the whole team needs to play its patented pressure defense, whether the shots are falling or not.

Kudos to the Hilltoppers and new coach Ken McDonald. Best team today won.

Fact is, these guys were not prepared for this game. If Steve K. were coaching, he would be ducking for deeper cover. “Out coached” comes to mind but we can never say that with RP at the helm. However, coach can’t shoot for them and they were as bad as a DOne team can get. The faithful are also getting REALLY tired of the Edgar Sosa Show. Some of us call it Reece Gaines Disease: your idea of taking over a game is just force it till it fits. Reece was a good player but exhibit A was the time he drove the lane and with no place to go, lowered his head and shoulder, and ran into the defender while tossing the ball back over his head toward the hoop. Edgar needs a cure or seat on the bench.
