Mea culpa time. I recently provided one of Howard Schnellenberger’s greatest quotes. Unfortunately it was not the entire verbiage.

Here’s how my post read: “FAU got some help in their battering of North Texas from some young D linemen, who hadn’t played much beforehand. Schnell the Belated Believer: ‘We had some young guys who came alive. God is leading us down an involuntary path that is exposing some of the talent that we have there that we haven’t been shrewd enough or courageous enough to bring into the games.’”

Herewith let me express my apologies and deep regret for not completing the quote in which Schnell the Pontificator thanked the Almighty for the entirety of the situation. The remainder of the above quote: “By His allowing some of our kids to get injured, some of our kids having to play is helping us.”

In other words, thank God for those injuries.

Allow me to express the most sincere regrets for my failure of exactitude.
